Quiet, careful facials in Silver Lake
Dewline is one room on Sunset Boulevard and one esthetician, June Achebe. No injectables, no product pitch, no rushing. Just ten years of reading skin closely and treating it gently, so it looks like yours again, only better rested.
I would rather do less, and do it right.
Most skin I see isn't neglected. It's overworked. Seven serums, an acid every night, a device from a podcast ad. My job is usually to take things away until your skin calms down enough to tell us what it actually needs.
I trained in Oakland, spent six years at a busy Santa Monica spa doing eight facials a day, and opened Dewline so I could slow down. You'll see me for every minute of your appointment, from the first cleanse to the last bit of SPF. Then I write down exactly what I used, so you can repeat the good parts at home.

What does your skin want today?
Three questions. June wrote the answers.
What a visit is like
Arrive
Ring the bell at the pale green door next to the bookshop. There's cold water, mint tea and a hook for your bag. Your intake form is done online the day before, so no clipboard.
Talk for five minutes
Sitting up, face to face. What's changed lately, what you're using, and what you'd like to stop thinking about.
A close look
A cleanse, then a look under the lamp. June tells you what she sees in plain words and what she'd like to change in the plan.
The facial
Heated bed, warm towels, very little talking unless you feel like chatting. Phones go in the basket.
Leave with a note
A small card with every product used, what to keep doing, and what to skip for the next 48 hours.
From clients
I came in for my rosacea expecting to be sold a package. June told me to stop using half my products and come back in six weeks. My cheeks haven't been this calm since college.
The lunch facial is the best forty minutes of my week. I go back to the office and nobody can tell, except I look like I slept.
She wrote everything down for me on a little card. It's still taped to my bathroom mirror, slightly water stained.
Booked the lymphatic facial two days before my sister's wedding. My jaw came back. Every photo, I checked.
Good questions
Do you offer Botox or fillers?
No. Dewline is a facial studio, not a med spa. Everything here is done by hand by a licensed esthetician. If you want injectables, June is happy to refer you to a nurse practitioner she trusts.
I've never had a facial. Which one should I book?
The Dewline Facial is a good first visit, or try the skin finder above. If something needs to change once you're on the table, June adjusts it, and the price follows the facial you actually received.
Will I be red or break out afterward?
Most people leave looking fresh. After extractions, a little pinkness for an hour or two is normal. Book the Clear Water Facial at least two days before an event.
How does booking work?
Send a request with the days that suit you. June replies within one business day with two or three times, and a card on file holds the appointment. Cancellations need 24 hours notice.
Request a time
Tell June what you'd like and which days work. She answers every request herself, usually the same evening.
