The Sta. Rita Hills sit in one of the few valleys on the West Coast that runs east to west, so the Pacific pours straight in. Fog lies in the rows until nearly noon, the wind arrives every afternoon, and the grapes take their time.
Tomás Reyes planted the first vines here in 2011 and sold the fruit for years. In 2018 his son Joaquín came home to farm, Mara came with him from a cellar job in Burgundy, and in 2019 they kept the grapes and made the first Larrow wines in a borrowed corner of a friend's cellar in Lompoc.
Today Joaquín farms all 22 acres by hand, without herbicides, and Mara makes the wine in the small barrel room they built on the hill in 2023. When a wine is gone, it is gone until the next vintage.
A 28 degree swing in a single day. The cold mornings keep the acid, the afternoon sun ripens the skins, and the wind thickens them. It is why our Pinot tastes of orange peel and sea spray, not jam.
Every bottle comes from our own 22 acres. Choose one to read Mara's notes, then hold bottles for pickup or shipping.

“We booked the seated tasting for an hour and stayed three. The fog came off the hill right as Mara poured the Fog Line.”
“It tastes like the place smells in the morning. Salt, orange peel, wet earth. I have never had a California Pinot like it.”
“Joaquín walked us through Block 4 in the cold and then handed us a glass from the barrel. Worth the drive from LA twice over.”
